Nick Barnett

Nick Barnett has a diverse work experience, spanning from 2007 to the present. Nick began their career as a Pharmacy Technician at Publix Super Markets from 2007 to 2012. Nick then worked as an Engineering Technician at Advance Testing Company from June to August 2012, and later at Patriot Engineering and Environmental, Inc. from September 2012 to April 2013. In 2013, Nick interned at Holcim, where they designed and tested research projects for concrete and cement. Nick then joined Preferred Materials, Inc. in 2014, where they participated in the Leadership Development Program and served as a Quality Control Manager until 2019. Following that, they worked at CEMEX as a Quality Control Manager for North California and North Nevada Aggregates from September 2019 to August 2020, and later as a Senior Manager of Quality Control for the Bay Area Ready Mix from August 2020 to July 2023. Most recently, Nick joined Fortera Corporation in June 2023 as a Senior Manager of Concrete Quality and Products.

Nick Barnett attended Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Concrete Industry Management. Nick also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Concrete Industry Management from the same university, which they completed in 2014.

In terms of certifications, Nick obtained the following:

- LEED Green Associate from USGBC National Capital Region in February 2023.

- Concrete Technologist Level IV from NRMCA in June 2016.

- Concrete Technologist Level III from the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association in November 2014.

It is unclear whether Nick obtained any of the additional certifications listed, including Aggregate Testing Technician - Level 1, Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I, Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level 1, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, and Concrete Technologist Level II.
