Ryan Gilliam

Ryan Gilliam has a diverse work experience in the technology and clean energy sectors. Ryan is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Fortera Corporation since 2019. In 2021, they also founded and became a member of the Board of Directors for Verdagy, a clean technology start-up. Previously, Ryan served as the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Chemetry Corporation, a clean technology start-up focused on redefining how chemicals are made. Ryan held various roles at Calera Corporation, including CEO, President, Chief Science Officer, and Vice President, overseeing research and development in carbon conversion and electrochemistry. Ryan also worked as a Venture Partner at 1955 Capital, a venture capital firm dedicated to investing in technologies that solve global challenges in areas such as energy, food safety, health, and sustainable manufacturing. Ryan has a strong background in clean energy and technology innovation.

Ryan Gilliam completed their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Toronto from 2000 to 2004. Ryan further pursued their education and obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the same university from 2004 to 2008.
