Michael Godfrey has extensive work experience in the mining industry. Michael started their career in 2006 as a Student Engineer at AMC Consultants, where they worked part-time while in university. Michael was involved in various design projects, feasibility studies, and tendering for new works.
In 2007, they joined BHP Billiton as a Mining Engineer and gained experience in open pit and underground operations. Michael Godfrey completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at The University of Western Australia in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Mining Engineering from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australian School of Mines, and a B.Comm degree in Finance from Curtin University, both earned between 2002 and 2006. Their high school education was completed at Swanbourne SHS. Michael also holds additional certifications including a Professional Certificate in JORC Code Reporting from AusIMM (obtained year unspecified) and a WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate from the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, Western Australia.
