Robert Baird

Robert (Bob) Baird joined Fortress as the Chief Base Operations Officer in April 2022 after serving as the Forest Service Director of Fire and Aviation Management for California R-5. Prior to this role, Bob also served as the Forest Supervisor of the Los Padres National Forest, and had a temporary assignment from the USFS to the State of California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection as an Acting Deputy Director. Prior to coming to California, Bob Baird was the Deputy Director for Operations for Fire and Aviation Management for the US Forest Service in Washington D.C. As a Marine Lt. Colonel, Bob was a Branch Head in the Center for Irregular Warfare with the Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. Bob has a Master's degree in Operational Studies from Marine Corps University and a BS in Government and Politics from University of Maryland.
