Hemmo Helminen

Hemmo Helminen has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Hemmo began their career as a Summer Trainee at Muurlan Elektroniikka, where they gained experience in electronics manufacturing. Hemmo later worked as a Repair Technician at Elcoteq before joining Nokia in various roles, including Configuration Expert/Senior Configuration Engineer, Group Manager/Product Manager in Product Portfolio Management, Manager of E-commerce & Sales Tools, and Engineering Manager in Software Testing.

At Microsoft, Hemmo held the positions of Head of In-Market Software Quality and Senior Manager of Software Integration and Quality, overseeing the quality of software on Windows phones. Hemmo then transitioned to Evondos Oy, where they served as a Software Manager, responsible for the development and operations of medical devices and telecare services.

Currently, Hemmo is employed at Fortum as an IT Service Manager and Application Security Lead. In these roles, they ensure the performance and security of IT services for various business units and leads the development and implementation of security processes and frameworks.

Throughout their career, Hemmo has demonstrated strong leadership skills, effective project management, and a focus on quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Hemmo Helminen has a diverse education history. Hemmo holds a Master of Engineering degree in Cyber Security from Turku University of Applied Sciences, which they obtained from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.Sc.) in Information and communications technology (ICT) from the same university, finishing in 2018. Hemmo also has an Engineering Technician degree in Computer Science / Information Technology from Turku Institute of Technology, which they earned from 1990 to 1993. Before pursuing higher education, they attended Salo Vocational school from 1987 to 1990 and obtained a degree in Electrical engineering, Electronic and Communications Technology, specializing in Radio&TV mechanics.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Hemmo has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they achieved PRINCE2 2009 Foundation certification from APMG International. In 2012, they obtained the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Most recently, they earned the Business Technology Standard Practitioner Certification from the Business Technology Forum in 2022, although the specific month is not provided.
