Riley leads the firm’s application of value-based principles to investments in intangible assets and stakeholder value. He has over 15 years of experience advising on and investing in intangible-intensive, capital-light businesses. He began his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley before joining Softbank’s venture capital fund to focus on investments in digital marketplaces. Prior to Fortuna Advisors, Riley advised clients in the US and Europe on corporate, business unit and product innovation strategy for Marakon; and partnered with several private equity funds to evaluate niche asset investments across a range of asset classes, including specialty reinsurance, electric vehicles, blockchain-native businesses and jet engines. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan.
