Kayla Carlisle has held a variety of roles in the medical and research fields since 2016. In that year, they began their first role as a Photographer for The Standard at Duke University. In 2017, they took on a Research Assistant role at the Duke Department of Cellular Biology where they studied the link between differentiation and tumorigenesis. In 2018, they began a Research Assistant role at the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy where they developed and implemented a strategy for utilizing North Carolina Medicaid claims data. Also in 2018, they took on a Research Assistant role at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. In 2020, they began a role as an Outreach and Research Specialist at the Hawaii Public Health Institute, where they coordinated efforts and served as a connector among direct food, meal, social and health service providers and organizations. Finally, in 2022 they began a role as a Medical Assistant for Forward.
Kayla Carlisle attended Duke University from 2016 to 2020, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy.
