Jennifer Townsend has a diverse work experience in the social services field. Jennifer started their career as a Youth Specialist II at the Division of Youth Services in 2009 and worked there until 2012. In this role, they were responsible for the care, therapy, and safety of female juvenile offenders in a residential treatment facility. Jennifer also maintained records and reported on their progress.
Jennifer then moved on to work as an Early Education Specialist at the Independence School District from 2012 to 2013. In this position, they handled tasks such as eligibility, recruitment, enrollment, and attendance. Additionally, they acted as a liaison between parents and teachers to help reach goals and provided family service coordination for various needs.
Following their role at the school district, Jennifer worked as a Family Advocate at Plaza de Niños from 2013 to 2014. Their responsibilities included handling eligibility, recruitment, enrollment, and attendance. Jennifer also served as a liaison between parents and teachers to help achieve goals and coordinated various family services such as housing, clothing, and food.
Since 2014, Jennifer has been working at FosterAdopt Connect. Jennifer started as an Extreme Recruiter/Family Finding Specialist and held this role until 2016. During this time, they focused on finding families for children in the foster care system. From 2016 to 2021, they were the Director of Recruitment Programs, where they oversaw recruitment efforts for adoptive families.
Most recently, Jennifer has assumed the position of Vice President of Children & Youth Programs at FosterAdopt Connect in May 2021. In this role, they are responsible for leading and managing programs focused on improving the lives of children and youth in foster care.
Jennifer Townsend attended Truman State University from 2004 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and English.
