Sebastien Weyn has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Sebastien is currently employed as a Principal Scientist at Fosun Pharma USA Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Stoke Therapeutics, starting as a Bioinformatics Scientist from 2018 to 2019, then progressed to the role of Senior Bioinformatics Scientist from 2020 to 2021, and finally served as an Associate Principal Scientist until early 2022.
Before joining Stoke Therapeutics, Sebastien worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University Medical Center from 2012 to 2018. Sebastien was a Ph.D. candidate in the laboratory of Chaolin Zhang, where they researched RNA-binding protein splicing regulation networks in brain and motor neuron development.
Additionally, Sebastien gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from 2011 to 2012, where they worked under the supervision of Igor Ponomarev, Ph.D. and R. Sebastien also served as an Undergraduate Peer Mentor in 2010, providing guidance and teaching research techniques to a group of 30 students under the supervision of Patrick Killion, Ph.D.
Sebastien Weyn obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin between the years 2008 and 2012. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education and received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Systems Biology (Integrated Program in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Studies) from Columbia University from 2012 to 2018.
