Christopher Schuh has had a diverse work experience. Christopher started their career in 2002 as the Danae and Vasilis Salapatas Professor of Metallurgy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2011, they took on the additional roles of Department Head and Professor at MIT, which they held until January 2020. In 2005, they founded Xtalic Corporation, a company that they are still involved with. Similarly, in 2015, they founded Desktop Metal. Currently, in 2022, they are the Co-Founder of Foundation Alloy.
Christopher Schuh completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1993 to 1997. Christopher then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy degree in the same field at Northwestern University, from 1997 to 2001.
