Joy du Plessis

Joy Du Plessis is an experienced professional in the education sector, currently serving as a Student Success Support Coach at Valenture Institute since December 2021, contributing to the student experience team at the UCT online high school. Previously, Joy worked as a Tutor for a first-year Social Development course at the University of Cape Town from February to July 2021, and served briefly as a Teacher Assistant at Ridgeview Primary School in late 2020. With a background in project management, Joy functioned as a Project Liaison for SHAWCO from March 2017 to November 2019, assisting in planning team-building sessions and monitoring event projects. Additional experience includes a promotional role at Dk Marketing, an internship at Hope Africa focused on poverty alleviation, and volunteering with SHAWCO in the education sector. Joy holds a BSocSc (Honours) in Social Development and a BSocSc in Social Development & Sociology from the University of Cape Town.
