Per Arvid Löthman, PhD has worked in a variety of roles since 1999. From 1999 to 2003, they were a Researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing and Advanced Materials research. From 2003 to 2005, they were a Researcher and Projectleader at the Max Bergmann Center for Biomaterials. From 2005 to 2008, they were a Researcher and Projectcoordinator at the Dresden University of Technology TUD Institute of Botany. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Europe Forschungsgesellschaft mbH. From 2011 to 2018, they were a Researcher at the Universität des Saarlandes, where they worked on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy of Graphene and several other nanostructure Physics related fields, as well as biomimetic applications, neuroscience, and biosensor of graphene. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Senior Lecturer at Hochschule Kaiserslautern and Hamburger Fern-Hochschule. Currently, they are a Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Research Scientist at Foviatech GmbH, and a Senior Lecturer at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin.
Per Arvid Löthman, PhD received their education beginning in 1990, when they completed an MSc. in Materials Science&Engineering from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. Per Arvid then went on to participate in a study abroad program from 1995-1996 at Alfred University, where they studied Ceramic Engineering, Glass Science, and Ceramic Science. Finally, in 2014 they completed their Ph.D. in Macroscopic Magnetic Self-assembly from the University of Twente.
