Kyle Gellatly has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2010 when they worked as a Research Technician at the Massachusetts State Pesticide Analysis Laboratory. Here, they gained experience with GC-MS/FID/NPD/ECD and LC-MS-MS, as well as analyzing data to determine contamination levels of various compounds. In 2011, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Environmental Toxicology Laboratory, researching DDT resistance in Drosophila melanogaster and conducting genotyping analysis of Pediculus humanus capitis. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as an Upstream Process Intern at EMD Millipore, learning techniques related to metabolite optimization. From 2013 to 2015, they were a M.S. Student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, continuing their research into DDT resistance and exploring the roles of cuticular penetration genes. Finally, in 2022 they began their current role as a Jr Machine Learning Engineer at FoxyAI.
Kyle Gellatly attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Minor in Philosophy. Kyle then went on to complete an M.S. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at the same university from 2013 to 2014. Kyle is currently attending UMass Chan Medical School, where they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
