Maria Jose Novelo

Maria Jose Novelo started their work experience in 2014 as a Research Intern at CICESE Research Center. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as an Engineering Laboratory Technician at Chateau Camou Wines and also had a Research Intern position at Centro de Nanociencias y Nanotecnología, where they focused on enzyme modified materials for chemical sensors. In 2016, they were a Research Intern at the University of California, Riverside. Maria Jose then joined NxStage Medical, Inc. in 2018 as a Chemical Engineer and worked until 2019. Maria Jose joined Medtronic in 2019 and held two roles, including Quality Engineer and NPI Quality Engineer. Maria Jose worked there until 2021. In 2022, they became a Senior Quality Engineer at Integra LifeSciences and worked until 2024. Currently, they are a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer at Fractyl Health.

Maria Jose Novelo obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California from 2011 to 2016. Maria Jose also participated in a mentoring summer research internship program in Biotechnology at the University of California, Riverside in 2016. In addition, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies at San Diego State University in 2015. Prior to their higher education, they completed high school at Colegio Alemán Cuauhtémoc Hank from 2006 to 2009.
