Steffen Hentrich

Steffen Hentrich has extensive experience in environmental and climate policy, currently serving as a Referent für Klimapolitik with the Fraktion der Freien Demokraten since March 2022. Prior to this role, Hentrich held the position of Referent für Umweltpolitik at the same organization from January 2018 to January 2022. Hentrich's background includes significant roles at the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit focusing on various policy aspects from December 2008 to December 2017, as well as a position as Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Sachverständigenrat für Umweltfragen and the Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung Halle (Saale), where the focus was on environmental and energy policy. Hentrich began an academic career as Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg. Hentrich holds a Diplom in Volkswirtschaftslehre from the Technische Universität Berlin, earned between 1991 and 1996.
