Rhythm hired Director of Communications in February 2021 to lead and execute day-to-day activities of the Creative and Brand teams. Director of Communications was responsible for defining project scope and objectives, overseeing and organizing workload and budgets across projects, forecasting resources needed to reach objectives, and managing resources in an effective and efficient manner. Director of Communications was also responsible for bringing together all the pieces in building out the project: copy, wireframes, UX, illustrations, and designs for review and approval. Additionally, Director of Communications was the gatekeeper and point of contact to help manage communication flow across teams and stakeholders. Director of Communications held internal teams, freelancers & partners accountable for delivering on project plans, and stayed on top of all timelines and budgets throughout the process.

All brand initiatives were managed within the company’s project management software to make sure all tasks and projects were up-to-date daily and that all changes/updates were tracked within the system. Director of Communications was responsible for project kick-off process and making sure all teams were aligned on brief before creative production began. Director of Communications created and enhanced processes, protocols, and workflows to improve team effectiveness and efficiency. The process was owned to ensure all creatives were aligned to stakeholder feedback. Timelines and creative deliverables were managed, and regular status reporting was conducted. Creative was trafficked once finalized to media/marketing and product teams for launch. All creative files and deliverables were curated on the shared directory. Legal and regulatory approvals were ensured. Director of Communications assisted with creative production such as copy adjustments to layouts, resizing/cropping artwork. Director of Communications also assisted with web production on the marketing website through the company’s content management system to stand up landing pages and add/edit content. Lastly, Director of Communications led cross-functional projects involving multiple departments on an ad-hoc basis.

The Director of Communications has a Master of Arts in Advertising from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Communications: Public Relations from the University of Houston.

Director of Communications works with and Senior Director of Marketing - Senior Director of Marketing. Director of Communications reports to VP of Marketinig, VP of Marketing.
