Justin Irvine

Justin Irvine is an experienced ecologist and conservation biologist with a strong background in natural resource management and biodiversity. Currently serving as Grant and Impact Manager and Ethiopia Coordinator at Frankfurt Zoological Society since April 2018, Justin oversees legal compliance and maintains relations with government agencies, while developing monitoring and evaluation systems. Previously, Justin held the position of Principal Scientist at The James Hutton Institute from May 2005 to February 2023, focusing on the Ecosystem Approach and wildlife management. Justin has also contributed as a Collaborator at Frankfurt Zoological Society and as an Ecologist at CEH, specializing in the impacts of land management on biodiversity. Justin holds a PhD in Ecology from the University of Stirling, an MSc in World Animal Production from Bangor University, and a BSc in Agriculture from Bangor University.
