Mary-Jo Kovach has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Mary-Jo started their career at Scott Foresman in 1924 as a Marketing Manager. From there, they worked at Merrill/Macmillan as a District Manager/Sr. Sales Representative in 1926. Mary-Jo then moved on to Harcourt Brace Publishers in 1992 as an Executive Manager/Regional Manager, where they achieved significant success by coaching a low-performing group to become the top-performing team within two years. Mary-Jo also took on a newly created role at Harcourt selling content to Corporations, Professional Associations, and Government entities for their training and member development programs. Mary-Jo joined Pearson in 2003 as the Vice President, Director of Territory Sales and was later promoted to Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. In these roles, they contributed to the company's strategic initiatives and led the territory sales team. Lastly, they currently work at FranklinCovey as a Senior Client Partner/Business Development, where they collaborate with educational organizations to improve overall effectiveness, culture, execution, productivity, and leadership.
Mary-Jo Kovach obtained a BA degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1900. Prior to that, they attended Homewood Flossmoor HS, although the exact years are unknown. In addition to their formal education, Mary-Jo has obtained several certifications, including OnWatch Certified from Safe House Project in October 2021, Unconscious Bias™ LeaderU Knowledge Certificate from FranklinCovey in October 2021, Unconscious Bias from LinkedIn in April 2021, and Gender Intelligence® Professional with Distinction from Gender Intelligence Group in May 2016.
