Marissa Block

Marissa Block has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. In 2012, they served as a Research Intern at International Technology and Trade Associates. In 2013, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Trinity College. In 2014, they joined the Millennium Challenge Corporation, starting as an Economic Analysis Intern before becoming an Economic Research Assistant. In this role, they conducted cost-benefit analyses and analyzed selected countries' economies. From 2017 to 2018, Marissa worked as a Research Assistant Intern at the University of Chicago Urban Labs. In 2018, they joined Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) as a Summer Intern. That same year, they began their involvement with the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, taking on several teaching assistant roles and serving as a Stata Instructor. Their most recent work experience is with Fraym, where they started as a Data Analyst in 2019 and progressed to Senior Data Analyst and Analytics Team Lead.

Marissa Block completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and International Studies with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies at Trinity College-Hartford from 2010 to 2014. During their time there, they also participated in a study abroad program at SOAS University of London, where they focused on Development Economics and Middle Eastern Studies from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, Marissa attended the Arabic Persian Turkish Language Immersion Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to further enhance their Arabic language skills. In 2017, they attended the Arab American Language Institute in Morocco for a summer program to continue their Arabic language studies. From 2017 to 2019, Marissa attended the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, where they obtained their Master of Public Policy degree with a specialization in Survey Research.
