Marcus Shead M.ed

Marcus Shead M.Ed has a diverse work experience in the education field. Marcus is currently the Director of Student Support at Frayser Community Schools, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Assistant Principal at Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools from 2020 to 2022. From 2017 to 2019, Marcus served as the School Principal at Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School, where they oversaw various administrative responsibilities and implemented academic and cultural changes. Marcus also worked as an Assistant Principal at the same school from 2016 to 2017, focusing on teacher observation and mentorship, as well as increasing student attendance rates. Marcus has previous experience as the Director of Student Support Services at Frayser Community Schools from 2014 to 2016, and as the Dean of Students at Westside Achievement Middle School from 2012 to 2014. In addition, they served as the Coordinator of Alternative Education at the Achievement School District in Memphis from 2013 to 2014, where they were responsible for coordinating alternative education programs and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Overall, Marcus has demonstrated expertise in various educational leadership roles and has a strong background in improving student outcomes and implementing effective instructional strategies.

Marcus Shead M.Ed began their education journey in 1997 when they enrolled in Lane College. Marcus pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Kindergarten through 8th grade education. Marcus successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2002.

In 2012, Marcus Shead M.Ed continued their education by enrolling in Strayer University, where they obtained a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General. Marcus dedicated himself to their studies and completed this program in 2014.

Through the completion of these two degrees, Marcus Shead M.Ed has acquired a solid educational foundation in both K-8 education and educational leadership and administration.
