A.J. Hurst supports clients in audits, merger & acquisition transactions and employee benefit plan audits. His experience includes middle-market and privately held companies in the technology, healthcare, construction, manufacturing & distribution, private equity and professional services industries.

A.J. serves in a leadership role within the firm’s ASC 606 revenue recognition implementation task force as a technical accounting resource and as the Vice Chair of the firm’s Healthcare practice. Additionally, he is a former Chair of the Training & Development Subcommittee within the firm’s Technology Practice and is an active member of the firm’s Audit Methodology team.

A.J. coauthored “The SSARS Have Been Clarified: What, When, and How?,” which was published in the Georgia Society of CPAs Current Accounts publication in January 2015, as well as “The Cash Flow Statement: Changes Coming to my Favorite Financial Statement,” which was published in Current Accounts in March 2017. He co-authored “How to Manage Risks Related to Multijurisdictional Group Audits,” which was published in the Journal of Accountancy in July 2017. He has experience speaking at various educational events and conferences on technical accounting topics.
