Shawn Barnard

Shawn Barnard is an experienced educator currently serving as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Specialist for Suffolk Public Schools since August 2020, focusing on supporting district students in the PreIB/IB program and providing instructional support to faculty. Previously, Shawn held the position of IB Diploma Program Coordinator at Fredericksburg City Schools, overseeing the IB Diploma Programme for high school students while managing budgetary needs for training and professional development. Shawn's teaching experience spans several years and multiple school districts, primarily as a Spanish teacher, with a consistent emphasis on creating lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and fostering effective classroom environments. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Hispanic Studies in Education from East Carolina University.
