Alexander Caviedes serves as the Director of the Academic Advisement & Information Center at Farmingdale State College since August 2018. Concurrently, Alexander holds the position of Associate Professor at SUNY Fredonia, a role maintained since August 2007. Previous academic positions include Visiting Assistant Professor at Whitman College and Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Alexander has also contributed to research at the Free University Berlin and the European University Institute. In legal practice, Alexander worked as an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Robert Jacobs and Maney and Gordon, specializing in immigration law, and gained early experience as a law clerk at Scruggs & Carmichael. Alexander attained a PhD in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds multiple law degrees, including an LL.M.eur in European Community Law and a J.D. from the University of Florida.
