Michelle D. Griggs is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and leadership roles. Currently serving as an ELA Teacher and Special Education Teacher at Freeport School District 145 since August 2017, Griggs has also held significant positions such as Superintendent of Sunday School at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and Academic Retention Coordinator at Highland Community College. Previous roles include Choir Director at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Director of the Kobe-Regents Center for Global Education at Rockford College, and Director of Multicultural and Cross Cultural Affairs at Greenville College. Griggs holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master’s in Special Education from UMSL, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Multicultural Education from Illinois State University, and a Master of Education in English Language and Literature.
