Sydney Tickle

Sydney Tickle has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. In 2017, they worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Holladay Healthcare Inc until 2019. In 2018, they also served as an Assistant Coach at Long Creek Swim Club for a short period. Sydney was involved with the Crash Campaign in November 2018, where they participated as a graphics designer, leading their team to a 1st place finish in their category and 2nd place overall. They served as a Peer Tutor at The Learning Center at UNC-Chapel Hill from August to December 2018. Sydney also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the UNC Department of Mathematics from August 2018 to May 2020. In 2019, they became a Science Educator at Morehead Planetarium & Science Center, and also served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the UNC Biology Department from January 2019 to May 2020. Sydney had a role as a Peer Tutor at the UNC Mathematics Help Center from January to May 2020. They worked as a Mathematics Teacher at Statesville Montessori School from September 2020 to May 2021. Currently, Sydney holds the position of Engineering Intern at Freese and Nichols, starting in May 2022, and will soon transition to the role of Engineer I in June 2023.

Sydney Tickle obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, and a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they studied from 2016 to 2020. In 2019, they also obtained a certification in Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED from Orange County EMS & Rescue. Sydney then pursued a Master's of Engineering in Coastal Engineering from North Carolina State University, starting in 2020 and expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Disaster Resilient Policy, Design, and Engineering from North Carolina State University from 2022 to 2023.
