Hans-Juergen Arens

Dr. Arens has nearly three decades of experience in the pharma and Medtech industries.

He uses his expertise to involve himself in directing international study budgets, negotiating contracts, and supporting clients with medical and operational leadership as well as consulting for solutions clients are looking for.

With a substantial number of publications to his credit, he held various positions in drug clinical research and development at Takeda, Merck KGaA, and Abbott/AbbVie, with responsibility for global clinical development teams as well as the strategic development of companion diagnostic and biomarker approaches connecting diagnostics and pharma in the field of personalized medicine. He joined Fresenius Medical Care in 2010, starting to serve as Director of Medical Affairs at Fresenius Renal Pharmaceuticals International, thereby managing medical and scientific support for the entire product portfolio of the Renal Pharma branch until 2016.

He received his Ph.D. in pharmacology/toxicology from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany.
