Flora Hofmann, PhD

Flora Hofmann, PhD, has a diverse work experience in various industries. Flora is currently working as a Data Scientist in Business Development at Frequenz since August 2021. Prior to this, Flora worked as a Data-to-decision consultant, where they were involved in projects such as building a Collaborative Learning Health System for Noah Therapies and developing a portfolio optimization Python tool for StellCap. Flora also participated in the development of a foreign exchange trading algorithm in collaboration with StellCap and updated a wheat planning Excel tool for Pioneer Foods.

Before their role as a consultant, Flora worked as a University Lecturer at Stellenbosch University from August 2020 to July 2022. Flora taught various subjects related to their field of expertise.

Flora's earlier work experience includes roles at Porsche and Mercedes-Benz South Africa, where they gained practical knowledge in logistics planning and supply chain management. Flora also had an internship at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, where they worked in the World Logistics Center.

Throughout their career, Flora has demonstrated a strong focus on data analysis and decision-making, utilizing their skills in Python and operations research.

Flora Hofmann, PhD, has an extensive education history. Flora began their academic journey in 2010 at ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. From 2010 to 2014, they dedicated herself to studying and acquiring knowledge in this field.

Following their undergraduate studies, Flora Hofmann decided to pursue further education at Stellenbosch University. In 2016, they enrolled in the Master of Commerce program, specializing in Operations Research. Demonstrating exceptional academic performance, they graduated cum laude in 2017, obtaining their master's degree.

Driven by a passion for knowledge and a desire to contribute to their field, Flora Hofmann, PhD, continued their studies at Stellenbosch University. From 2018 to 2020, they dedicated two years to complete their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Operations Research. Their research during this time would have allowed their to deepen their expertise in this particular field and contribute to the academic community with their findings.
