Mark Engel

Mark Engel has extensive work experience in engineering and facilities management. Mark started their career at GEO Specialty Chemicals, Inc. in 1998 as a Plant Engineer/Production Manager, where they oversaw maintenance, project, and process engineering teams. Mark successfully implemented energy efficiency initiatives and achieved cost reductions. In 2005, they joined Merck as a Sr. Mfg Facilitator/Supervisor. After working at Merck for two years, they transitioned to Just Born, Inc. in 2007, where they held multiple positions. Initially, they served as a Facilities Engineer for 4 and a half years before becoming the Sr. Manager of Engineering & Facilities. In this role, they managed capital planning, engineering, and facilities support for manufacturing and corporate headquarters. Finally, Mark joined Freshpet in 2018 as the Sr. Site Engineering Manager and was eventually promoted to Vice President of Engineering in October 2022.

Mark Engel attended Penn State University from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
