Executive Director, Black Male Teacher Residency at Friendship Public Charter School

Joseph E. Speight, Jr. has extensive experience in educational leadership, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Black Male Teacher Residency and previously holding positions as Principal and Chief Academic Officer at Friendship Public Charter School since June 2009. In addition to roles at North Star College Preparatory Academy for Boys as Founding Director of Operations and at Friendship Public Charter School as Assistant Principal, Joseph has experience as a Program Coordinator at Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter School and as a Teacher in Prince George's County Public Schools. Joseph's educational background includes an Executive Masters of Leadership from Georgetown University and multiple degrees in Educational Administration and Organizational Leadership from Trinity Washington University and Alliance University, along with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Virginia State University.
