James Rout

James Rout, PhD, currently serves as the Director of the Centre for Indigenous Health Leadership at the First Nations Health Authority, where leadership focuses on developing and supporting training for over 160 Health Directors across British Columbia. In addition, James Rout holds the position of Executive Director at Cognitive Analytics, providing consulting and technical services that enhance digital transformation and workforce training. As an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University, research activities include exploring user experience with AI-enhanced extended reality applications. James Rout co-founded the Frontier Collective to foster innovation and sustainability in British Columbia, and previously led educational technology initiatives as Associate Vice-President at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. A co-founder of BC Tech Cube and a board member of the VR/AR Association, James Rout is actively engaged in promoting advancements in media and creative industries. Academic credentials include a PhD in Educational Technology from Simon Fraser University and a Master’s in Library & Information Studies from the University of Alberta.
