Sumer S. Johal

Sumer S. Johal is a seasoned technology and leadership expert with extensive experience in the food and agriculture sector. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Semios, a leader in precision agriculture technology, Sumer S. Johal also holds the position of Executive Director at The Linux Foundation, directing the AgStack project to create an open digital infrastructure for global agriculture stakeholders. Sumer S. Johal is a Board Member of The Sikh Health Network, promoting community health initiatives, and acts as a Strategic Advisor for FTW Ventures, focusing on sustainable food and agriculture technologies. Previously, Sumer S. Johal founded and led Agralogics, refining data analysis for the food industry, and held several executive roles, including CEO of Agni Corporation and CTO of Pivotal Systems Corporation, among others. Sumer S. Johal holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
