Erik Vaessen

Erik Vaessen has a diverse work experience in the life sciences industry. Erik is currently serving as the Chief Business Officer for Life Sciences at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, a global leader in cell culture media, reagents, and medical devices. Prior to this role, Erik held the position of Executive Director of Life Sciences Business at the same company. Before joining FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Erik worked as the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Bioproduction & Cell & Gene Therapy at the company. Erik also served as the Global Sales Director for Industrial Cell Culture & Cell Therapy and as the EU Business Manager for Industrial Cell Culture at FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific.

Before joining FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, Erik worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Area Sales Manager. In this role, they were responsible for the Thermo Scientific HyClone product line at industrial accounts in the Netherlands, Flanders, and Nordic countries.

Erik's career started at Sigma-Aldrich, where they worked as a Sales Development Manager.

Erik Vaessen pursued their education in the field of Biochemistry, starting from 1990 to 1996 at Wageningen University & Research, where they obtained their Master of Science degree in Molecular Sciences. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Bern in 1997 to study Cell Biology, although the degree obtained is not specified. Erik then furthered their education at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, where they completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry from 1998 to 2002.
