Russel Wong has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. Russel began their career in 2018 at IMAS, where they worked as a Policy Analyst, engaging with regulators and the industry on policies and regulations related to asset management. Russel then took on the role of Senior Analyst, conceptualizing and launching a regional FinTech accelerator that received government funding and attracted major fund houses' participation.

In 2020, Russel joined Fullerton Fund Management, starting as an Associate Business Analyst and progressing to Senior Associate and Manager. In their most recent role as Associate Director in the Chief Business Development Officer Office, they collaborated with management to identify and execute new growth areas, including strategic projects, global partnerships, and market intelligence. Russel successfully led business development initiatives in Thailand, Latin America, and Family Offices, with key achievements including the launch of a direct private equity fund and market expansion in Latin America. Prior to that, they attended Temasek Polytechnic from 2009 to 2012, where they received a Diploma with Merit in Business Information Technology. In addition to their formal education, they also acquired several certifications. In November 2020, they obtained CMFAS Module 5 certification from the Singapore College Of Insurance. In August 2020, they obtained CMFAS Module 3 certification from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Recently, in March 2023, they completed the Dalio Sustainable Market Principles Program offered by the Wealth Management Institute (WMI).
