Sr. Designer at Funko

Derek Land has extensive experience in the design industry. Derek started their career at Horizon Group USA in 2010, where they worked as a Designer creating original illustrations and product mechanicals for children's activity books, stickers, toys, and other products. Derek continued to gain experience as a Freelance Video Game Artist, working on projects such as "Kibble Quest" and "Cat Stackers" in 2013. Later, Land worked as a Contract Illustrator at Forrest-Pruzan Creative from 2014 to 2016, creating illustrations for board game components and providing storyboards for videos.

Land then joined Funko in 2016 as a Designer, responsible for creating original concepts and finished vector images for various Funko figures based on licensed characters and original IP. Derek worked independently and collaboratively with Sculptors, Art Directors, and Project Managers to finalize figure art for licensor approval. In 2018, they were promoted to Sr. Designer at Funko, where they continued their responsibilities while also art directing projects both internally and with outside partners throughout the production process.

Overall, Derek Land has demonstrated their skills in design, illustration, and art direction through their work experience in various creative roles.

Derek Land attended the Savannah College of Art and Design from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Sequential Art.
