Matthew B. Poling

Matthew B. Poling, PE, CFM, has extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in project management, stormwater management, and floodplain management. Currently serving as Engineering Director for the Town of Fuquay-Varina since May 2014, Matthew has also held positions as Assistant Engineering Director and Staff Engineer. Prior to this, Matthew worked at the NCDENR in various roles including Assistant State Sediment Specialist and Assistant Regional Engineer. Additional experience includes engineering positions at Davis, Martin, Powel & Associates and Schnabel Engineering, focusing on dam design and hydraulic computations. Matthew began a career in construction as a Roadway Construction Intern at Larco Construction and has a solid educational foundation with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. Proficiencies include AutoCAD, MS Excel, and various hydrologic modeling software.
