Eric Van Der Sluys

Eric is an accomplished architectural designer and project manager with over 20 years’ experience working primarily on educational, cultural, and institutional projects. Taking pride in being a well-rounded architect, Eric manages all aspects of the design process from visioning through to construction.

Eric was always involved in the arts as a child and in particular, had a love for drawing. He sought out arts programs throughout his schooling and as he got older, became interested in architecture, buying books on the subject and drawing floorplan layouts for his own enjoyment. Pursuing his Bachelor of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology was an eye-opener for young Eric, giving him clarity of how design fits into people's overall experience of space.

He likens his role to that of a conductor—needing to stay ahead of the design and consultant teams to coordinate their efforts and ensure everything paces together smoothly, especially during construction. His ability to combine innovative technical knowledge with a rigorous and methodical design process results in the superior cohesiveness of a building's design and systems.
