Mario Saltarelli MD, PhD

Mario Saltarelli MD, PhD has a wealth of experience in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. In 2017, they began working as Senior Vice President at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. In 2018, they took on the role of EVP and Chief Medical Officer at Syntimmune, as well as Medical Sciences at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In 2019, they were appointed Chief Medical Officer at Entrada Therapeutics and Independent Director at Bioasis Technologies Inc. In 2020, they began working as Chief Executive Officer of both US Green Valley Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Neuron23, Inc., as well as Assistant Professor in Neurology (adjunct) at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Verge Genomics as a member of their Scientific Advisory Board. In 2022, they will take on the role of CEO & CMO at GABA Therapeutics, Inc.

Mario Saltarelli MD, PhD obtained a B.S in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1978 to 1982. Mario then obtained an MD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1982 to 1986, followed by a PhD in Neuropharmacology from the same school from 1986 to 1989.
