Basanta Dahal

Basanta Dahal has a wealth of experience in scientific research and teaching. Basanta began their career in 2011 as a Lab Assistant at Agricare Nepal, where they gained an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hands-on experience of industry-based research. That same year, they were also a Research Intern at Center for Molecular Dynamics Nepal (CMDN), where they contributed to a research project on tuberculosis diagnosis. From 2012 to 2017, Dahal worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at SIU School of Medicine, where they designed and managed projects and conducted laboratory experiments to investigate novel roles of different genes in DNA mismatch repair. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Finless Foods as a Scientist in High Throughput Screening, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Research Associate. Most recently, they began working at Prolific Machines Inc. as a Senior Scientist in 2022.

Basanta Dahal completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Biotechnology from Kathmandu University (KU) between 2007 and 2011. Basanta then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale between 2012 and 2018.
