Matt Weller

Matt Weller, CFA, CMT has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Currently, they serve as the Global Head of Research at StoneX Retail, a position they have held since March 2020. In this role, they oversee a team of 13 analysts across four continents and presents house outlooks on FX, stock, and commodity markets to the public and financial media. Additionally, they coordinate with other departments to develop strategic objectives and achieve business KPIs.

Prior to their current role, Matt worked at Faraday Research as a Portfolio Manager, managing US Real Time Trader and US FX Daily products. Matt was responsible for identifying short-term trading opportunities using fundamental and technical analysis, developing financial models, producing market commentary, and creating marketing material. Matt held this position from May 2016 to January 2019.

Before joining Faraday Research, Matt worked at GAIN Capital as a Senior Market Analyst from October 2013 to March 2016. Matt also served as a Market Analyst at GFT Global Markets UK LTD from August 2011 to October 2013, where they wrote trade recommendation articles, conducted client webinars, and gave live presentations on trading strategies.

In addition to their financial industry experience, Matt has also worked as a Writing Consultant at Grand Valley State University from August 2008 to May 2010. Matt has also served as a Global Wealth Management Intern at Merrill Lynch in 2009 and as a Financial Analyst Associate at FinStrata, LLC from May 2009 to August 2009.

Matt Weller, CFA, CMT holds a BBA degree in Finance and Accounting from Grand Valley State University. Matt obtained their Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute in August 2016 and their Chartered Market Technician (CMT) certification from the CMT Association, Inc. in September 2014. In addition, they hold Series 34 and Series 3 certifications, obtained from the National Futures Association/FINRA in December 2010 and November 2010, respectively.
