Dan Wells

Dan Wells is an experienced professional in community development and project management, currently serving as the Community Development Director for Gaines Charter Township since March 2020. Previously, Dan held the position of Senior Project Manager at AKT Peerless from September 2015 to January 2020 and served as the Community Development Senior Specialist at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where responsibilities included administering the Brownfield and Community Redevelopment Programs to facilitate the redevelopment of contaminated properties across Michigan. Dan’s expertise encompasses tax increment financing and economic development. Earlier career roles include working as an Environmental Paralegal at Warner Norcross & Judd and as a Land Use Educator at MSU Extension, alongside extensive experience as an archaeologist. Dan holds a Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning with a focus on Urban & Regional Planning from The University of New Mexico.
