Karen Ward

Karen Ward has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting. Karen started their career as an Accountant at the City of Gainesville in 2002, where they prepared monthly and quarterly reports, analyzed system data, and conducted audits. Karen then worked as an Accountant at the City of Delray Beach from 2014 to 2016, managing financial aspects of grants and budgets. In 2017, they joined Gainesville Regional Utilities as a Treasury Analyst, responsible for debt management and bank activity monitoring. Karen also worked as a Senior Accountant at the same company, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Additionally, Karen owned and operated a vacation rental business, Lake House Retreat, providing a relaxing experience for guests.

Karen Ward obtained their Associate's degree in Accounting from Santa Fe College, where they studied from 2001 to 2011. Karen later pursued further education at the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business, where they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from 2012 to 2019.
