James W. has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to the present. James started their career as an Intern at Automotive Components Holdings, LLC in 2006. James then worked as an Online Production Assistant at Car and Driver in 2009. Following that, James served as a Web Intern at CarandDriver.com, Hachette Filipacchi and as a Department Head at Hackney Ace Hardware. In 2011, they joined Michigan Technological University as a Research Intern, where they worked on various projects related to geospatial and environmental research. James continued their research work at Michigan Tech Research Institute in 2012 as a Geospatial and Environmental Research Intern.

From 2013 to 2021, James held multiple roles at CareerArc, starting as a University Partnership Manager and then transitioning to a Sales Development Representative (SDR), Outplacement SDR Team Lead, Manager of Sales Development, and finally, Manager of Client Success Operations.
