Sameer Shaikh

Sameer Shaikh has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sameer began their career as an Engineer at CMC Ltd in 1997 and worked there until 2001. Then, they joined Wipro Technologies as a Senior Systems Engineer from 2001 to 2003.

In 2003, Sameer joined Emirates Group, where they held various roles including Senior Engineer - Information Security, Management Roles in IT Security and Risk, and Head of IT Security and Risk. Sameer worked at Emirates Group until 2015.

After leaving Emirates Group, Sameer joined Galaxkey Limited in 2016 as the Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa region. Sameer held this position until 2017.

Next, Sameer joined Air Arabia (ACCELaero) in 2017 as the Head of Information Security and Risk. Sameer later became the Head of Enterprise IT Governance before leaving in 2020.

Sameer returned to Galaxkey Limited in 2020 as the Executive Director for the Middle East and Africa region, and in 2021, they took on the additional role of Head of Information Security, IT Governance, and Industry Relations. Sameer continues to work for Galaxkey Limited in these roles.

Sameer Shaikh has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Information Systems Management from an unspecified institution. Sameer also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics from Savitribai Phule Pune University. In addition to their formal education, Sameer Shaikh has obtained several certifications, including CGEIT and CISA from ISACA, CISSP from (ISC)², COBIT 5 Foundation from ISACA, and ISO 27001 Lead Auditor - Information Security Certification from ISO - International Organization for Standardization. Sameer has also completed the IT Leadership Academy program from CEB.
