Norman Westphal has extensive work experience in various IT roles. Norman started their career as a Procurement Manager at Seditec in 1998 before transitioning to a Logistic and Key Account Manager at Freudenberg in 2000. In 2003, they became a System Administrator at Burgmann Packings GmbH, where they worked until 2007. Norman then joined MJ Flood Technology as a System Engineer for a year before moving on to Stericycle, where they worked as an Infrastructure System Engineer and later as an Infrastructure Manager from 2008 to 2011. In 2012, they took on the role of a System Engineer at gamigo AG before becoming a Senior System Engineer at conversis GmbH. Norman returned to gamigo AG in 2014 as a Senior System Engineer and eventually progressed to the position of Head of IT Operations.

Norman Westphal began their education at Fritz-Reuter-Schule in 1984, where they completed their primary education. From 1991 to 1995, they attended Realschule Schwarzenbek and received their high-school degree. Following this, they pursued further studies at DAA - German Employees Academy from 1995 to 1998, specializing in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management.

Norman Westphal also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In January 2006, they achieved the MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certification through Prometric. In March 2006, they acquired the MCSA 2003 (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) and MCSA 2003+M (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator+Messaging) certifications, also from Prometric. Additionally, in May 2002, they obtained the Ausbilder IHK (Instructor) certification, though the institution where they acquired this certification is not specified.
