Gene Alvarez

Gene Alvarez is a distinguished vice president and analyst at Gartner since April 1999, directing global teams in market and business analysis while overseeing the research approval process. Prior to this role, Gene served as a data warehousing manager at Nine West, establishing a corporate data warehouse and enhancing data administration functions. Gene's earlier experience includes positions at KPMG Peat Marwick as a senior data administrator, where a corporate data warehouse was established, and at the New York Power Authority, leading the creation of a data administration unit and document management systems for power plants. Gene began a career in data analysis and application programming at AT&T from 1983 to 1989. Gene holds a Master of Science in Management Science from Pace University and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Sciences from Iona University.
