Ja'Salyn Smith

Ja'Salyn Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Most recently, they worked as a Quality Document Controller at Gate Neurosciences, Inc. Since joining in November 2020, they have been responsible for managing and organizing quality documents.

Prior to that, Ja'Salyn owned and served as the Chief Candlemaker in Charge of Javielle Candle Company LLC since October 2019. In this role, they oversaw all aspects of the candle-making business.

From November 2018 to September 2020, Ja'Salyn worked as a Partnership Specialist at the U.S. Census Bureau. Ja'Salyn'sresponsibilities included cultivating and securing partnerships with Fortune 500 and large businesses in Houston.

In this role, Ja'Salyn provided various forms of administrative, technical, social, and creative support for biosciences companies. Ja'Salyn also managed day-to-day business operations.

Prior to that, Ja'Salyn worked as an HR Administrator and Executive Assistant at Assembly Biosciences, Inc. from April 2016 to November 2017 and from September 2014 to April 2016 respectively. In these roles, they were involved in formulating and administering HR policies and procedures, managing recruiting and onboarding processes, and coordinating various administrative tasks.

Other experiences include working as a Public Relations Coordinator at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas, an Account Executive at Edelman, and a Public Relations Assistant at Prominent Placement, Inc.

Ja'Salyn also gained valuable experience as an External Affairs Intern at FEMA and as a Seasonal Account Executive at Capital Area United Way.

Ja'Salyn Smith attended Louisiana State University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication with a field of study in Public Relations. Afterward, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Master of Public Administration degree in Planning and Economic Development at Georgia State University.
