Vel Moonien

Vel Moonien is an experienced journalist currently serving as an Editor at Today in Seychelles since August 2023. Moonien has been a Correspondent for Reporters sans frontières (RSF) since May 2018 and for the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime since May 2020, working in collaboration with the East and Southern Africa Risk Bulletin. Additional roles include Correspondent at MONDAFRIQUE and Le Quotidien de la Réunion, as well as a Contributing Writer for African Arguments since May 2022. Moonien held the position of Head of News at afm.media for a brief period and served as Chef du service faits divers at Le Défi Media Group. Moonien's previous experience also includes a Correspondent role at Le Monde. Academic background includes studies at Ecoles des métiers de l'information-CFD.
