Karen Waldenmeyer began their work experience in 2006 as a Graphics Intern at Oxygen Education LLC. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Web Developer/Designer at Purdue University. In 2009, they served as a Teaching Assistant at Purdue University and also held the role of Teaching Assistant (Surface Modeling) for a few months. Simultaneously, they worked as a Research Assistant (Teamcenter) for Rolls-Royce & Purdue University from 2007 to 2010. In a separate position at Purdue University, they also worked as a Research Assistant (Training) for Boeing & Purdue University, focusing on creating educational materials and redesigning a fighter plane using software tools. In 2010, Waldenmeyer joined GE Aviation's Information Technology Leadership Program, where they remained until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they worked at GE as a Cloud Automation Engineer and later as an Application Architect. Karen then transitioned to GE Aerospace, where they held various roles including Staff Software Engineer - Technical Architecture from 2015 to 2018, Principal Software Architect from 2018 to 2022, and currently holds the position of Senior Principal Software Architect since February 2022.
Karen Waldenmeyer received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Graphics Technology, Computer & Information Technology, and Psychology from Purdue University in the years 2004 to 2008. Karen then pursued a Masters of Science degree in Technology specializing in Applied Computer Graphics from Purdue University from 2008 to 2010.
