Michelle Coomes

Michelle Coomes, PHR, SHRM-CP has over 27 years of work experience, primarily in HR roles. Michelle is currently serving as the Senior Director of Global HR Operations & Payroll at GE Appliances, a Haier company since January 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Director of Global HR Operations & Payroll at the same company from June 2016 to December 2021.

Before GE Appliances, Michelle had an extensive career at GE, starting in 1994 as an Intern. Michelle then worked as a Staffing Specialist/HR Generalist at Normal Life, Inc. from March 1997 to May 1998. Returning to GE, they assumed various roles including Technical Co-op Coordinator, HRIS Project Manager, Program Manager in Direct Marketing, Global Organization & Staffing Manager in Information Technology, HR Business Partner in Consumer Home Services, and Organization & Staffing Manager in Supply Chain. Michelle'sfinal position at GE was Manager of Global HR Operations & US Payroll from February 2013 to May 2016.

Michelle Coomes, PHR, SHRM-CP has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a focus on Human Resources from Bellarmine University. Michelle also holds a Master's degree in Labor Management from the University of Louisville. In addition, they graduated from the Leadership Louisville Center's signature program for established community leaders in 2023. Michelle has obtained the PHR certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2001 and the SHRM-CP certification from SHRM in 2015. Michelle also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
