Karen Gysen

Karen Gysen is a highly experienced professional in urban planning and architecture, currently serving as the Founding Mother of 4planet vzw since February 2022, and as an advisor for Monnikenheide-Spectrum and Stad Antwerpen. With a strong background in heritage and urban planning, Karen has held roles at the Provincie Antwerpen as an Advisor and Project Coordinator for significant EU projects. Additionally, Karen has contributed to various organizations, including serving on the Board of the European Federation of Fortified Sites and volunteering with the marketing and communication team at BZN Living Values. Karen holds a Master’s degree in Heritage from the University of Antwerp and a Master of Architecture from the Henry van de Velde-instituut, complemented by multiple qualifications in urban studies and education.
